Please note that reservations are usually required for dinner, while most restaurants do not accept reservations for lunch.
Our staff is available during your stay, either at the front desk or via WhatsApp, to assist you with reservations.
We strongly recommend making your request before noon on the same day, as some restaurants stop accepting reservations around 2 PM.
For other restaurants (mostly in the city), many of them do not accept concierge reservations due to frequent no-show issues.
Of course, we will always assist when possible.

Nosoko Area - Restaurant Recommendations

  • Glide Style

    🇯🇵 Japanese | 🇬🇧 English | 🌙 Dinner only
    ⏰ Open: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Last order: 9:00 PM)
    📅 Closing day: Rarely closed
🔥 Type: Outdoor BBQ (under a tent with mosquito net protection)

    💬 Our opinion:
Ka-chan, the owner, is a former surfer with a great island vibe. Very welcoming and genuinely kind, he creates a relaxed and authentic atmosphere. The Ishigaki beef and pork served here are among the best on the island. If you try only one restaurant during your stay, this is the one we would recommend.

    💬 Our opinion:
Run by a local family, Nosoko Malolo is a go-to spot for island residents. Very affordable and deeply rooted in the local community, it’s also especially welcoming for families with children. The restaurant is part of their home, giving it a warm, “chez l’habitant” atmosphere.
At diner, all guests are requested to order one drink.

  • Forestale Uno

    🇯🇵 Japanese | ☀️Lunch & Diner🌙
    ⏰ Open: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM & 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (LO: 7:15 PM)
📅 Closing days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday (no diner on Friday).
    🔥 Type: Italian inspired

    💬 Our opinion:
Forestale Uno is a small Italian-inspired restaurant run by a local family, located in the jungle close to the sea. With only four tables, reservations are essential for dinner. The place is quite stylish, and there is a small lacquerware gallery on the second floor. The food is tasty and the ingredients are excellent, but don’t expect authentic Italian cuisine but rather a Japanese interpretation.

  • Taira Family – Fishermen’s Cuisine

    🇯🇵 Japanese | 🌙 Dinner only
    ⏰ Open: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Last order: 9:00 PM)
📅 Closing day: when no reservations
    🔥 Type: local fishermen’s cuisine

    💬 Our opinion:
The Taira family is one of the founding families of Ibaruma village, located about 10 minutes from the hotel. The menu consists of only one option — “Father’s Choice.” Sashimi, fried gurukun (fusilier fish), fish soup, and other dishes are prepared by the fisherman’s father using the freshest seasonal catch. Very local, very authentic. Recommended for both the food and the experience! No English support, officially, but they’re trying their best! Reservation mandatory, preferably 24h in advance. (Approx 4,000 YEN / person)

🔥 Type: Japanese interpreted Mexican Tacos

    💬 Our opinion:
About 2 km from the hotel, Painu Taco is a small, locally run restaurant using fresh local ingredients to make excellent tacos. It is open for lunch year-round, while dinner is only available during the high season. It’s a bit of a walk, but it’s also the only restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Very active, they also run a food truck downtown.

    🔥 Type: Island café

    💬 Our opinion:
Run by an elderly couple, Arioru Café is part of a small guesthouse-style property. They serve burgers, rice and noodle dishes, along with fresh juice drinks. Slightly hidden from the main road and with quick service, it’s also a good fallback option for dinner. Very locally rooted, it’s a simple and pleasant escape just a couple of minutes from the hotel.

  • Ufuta Yaeyama Soba

    🇯🇵 Japanese | 🇬🇧 English | ☀️Lunch Only
    ⏰ Open: Noon – 1:00 PM
📅 Closing days: Friday & Saturday
🔥 Type: Ishigaki style Yaeyama Soba (noodles)

    💬 Our opinion:
With the reputation of being the best Yaeyama soba restaurant of the Island and has limited space. They do not take reservations, so we recommend going as early as possible (around 11:45 am) to avoid a long wait. Ufuta offers several dishes, but the must try is pork belly Yaeyama Soba (traditional Okinawan pasta in a skipjack tuna soup). Beware of the large portion, it’s a lot of pasta to eat

Run by a grandmother from Osaka, the restaurant officially serves lunch only. That said, it is sometimes possible to arrange an early dinner around 6:00 PM on request. If you’re interested, feel free to ask at the front desk around noon and we can check availability for you. They serve Osaka-style dishes such as okonomiyaki, as well as local specialties like Yaeyama soba (Okinawan noodles).
